The DSPA brand of aerosol generators is the world leader with more units sold than any other brand.

Aerosol generators were first introduced in 1987 as replacements for Halon (BCF). Unlike Halon DSPA is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. However like Halon the compound acts volumetrically, flooding the compartment and filling every corner to ensure the fire is fully extinguished. This makes it ideal for confined spaces. DSPA products are installed around the world in;

COMPUTER & SERVER ROOMS: DSPA is non-corrosive or conductive
GENERATOR & ENGINE ROOMS: DSPA doesn't affect any air filters
ARCHIVES & WAREHOUSES: DSPA requires no water or water mist
SHIPS, YACHTS, NAVY VESSELS: DSPA requires no storage space
MOTOR COMPARTMENTS: DSPA can be activated thermally
LABORATORIES:
DSPA is non-toxic and environmentally friendly
CABLE SHAFTS: DSPA expands volumetrically to flood the area

GOVERNMENT & HERITAGE BUILDINGS: DSPA requires no pipe work
ELECTRICAL CABINETS:
DSPA is small and compact

DSPA stands for Dry Sprinkler Powder Aerosol. The name stems from the way aerosol gases flood the compartment in the same way that Halon did. The products are called Aerosol Generators and come in various shapes and sizes to suit the purposes for which they are intended. The particles in the aerosol are minute, approximately 2 microns in size, think 250 times smallr than a speck of dust, and most escapes into the atmosphere. So residue that remains after activation is minimal and easily vacuumed or swept away.
